Friday November 20th

Saturday November 21st
9:00 – 10:00 am Live spinning with DJ GeeXella
10:00 – 10:15 am Welcome
10:15 – 11:30 am Session 1A: Ask the Doc (adults only)
Gaining access to health professionals is often full of obstacles, E3 is breaking down some of those barriers with an hour Q & A with a licensed psychiatrist, physician, and clinician. A panel of licensed professionals coming together to equip caregivers and youth with information about queer health and wellbeing.

Session 1B: Sex Education for Queer Bodies (youth only)
This youth only session will focus on empowering queer youth with the information that they do not receive in health class about their own bodies and identities. This is a safe space for youth to ask questions and learn how to honor themselves.

11:35 – 12:45 am Keynote with GeeXella: Allyship in Motion
Geexella is most recognized as a singer, rapper, DJ and community organizer. Their passion for music served as the catalyst to create and organize DuvalFolx – the only intentional dance party/space for marginalized communities in Northeast Florida. They will share about their own lived experience and how they have created space for themselves and others through music and advocacy.
12:45 – 1:00 pm Lunch Break
1:00 – 2:00 pm Session 2A: Art Break with Heather Denning (youth only)
Heather Denning is leading an art therapy project to guide youth on a journey of unmasking their own identities. Heather’s engaging and brilliant energy will fill the virtual space with a wonderful coping technique that empowers youth to embrace their authentic selves.

Session 2B: Caring for Queer Youth (adults only)
A workshop designed for caregivers and led by experts in this area, Hugh Lane staff will help those who love and care for queer youth learn ways to empower them on their journey.

2:05 – 3:45 pm Ryan Cassata performance and Q & A
Ryan Cassata is an award-winning singer-songwriter and actor, performer, published writer, LGBTQ+ activist, and motivational speaker based in Los Angeles. With features in GRAMMY.com, Rolling Stone, Billboard, The New York Times, Buzzfeed, and The NY Daily News, Ryan will light up the E3 virtual stage with their music and Q & A on Saturday afternoon.

Meet the Performers and Presenters

Sara Weinstein

Sara Weinstein

Sara is the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Coordinator at Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties. She has worked in the Public Health/ Health Education field for the past eight years. She earned her Master’s degree in Health Education from The College at Brockport, SUNY. Sara is passionate about teaching, working with young people, and making sex ed inclusive and affirming for all. Sara lives with her partner and cat in Buffalo, NY.

Simone Shuster Zimicki

Simone Shuster-Zimicki

Simone is the Health Educator Supervisor at Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties. She graduated from Canisius College in 2016 with a triple Bachelor’s in English, Creative Writing, and Communications. Since then, she has immersed herself in the Sexual Health Education field. She’s passionate about creating sexuality education resources that are inclusive, comprehensive, liberating, and accessible to the people in her community. With a passion for social justice and a long history with community involvement, she hopes to play a part in helping to change the way that youth in her community receive Sex Education. Simone is a mother, an artist, a collector of hobbies, and an advocate for her community.

Brandi

Brandi Fresco Carlini

Brandi is a 23-year old local Erie MC with multi-faceted talents such as singing, dancing, painting, and various other art expressions. Her flows bring together people of all ages, using good rhythms with good intentions.

GeXella

GeeXella (jee-EL-Luh)

Singer. Rapper. DJ. Organizer.They/Them — Capricorn Sun — AfroLatinxA bleeding heart, rainbow fueled, passionate nightingale has taken a form that is GeeXella. They are a singer, rapper, dj and community organizer. They use their passion for music as a vehicle to create intentional dance space for marginalized communities in the SOUTH. They are a community organizer and activist in Jacksonville, Florida. They believe in self expression and hope to provide more community events for QTPOCS and Black folx (Queer, Trans, People of Color). Check out their work at https://www.geexellamusic.com/

Ryan Cassata

Ryan Cassata

is an award-winning singer-songwriter and actor, performer, published writer, LGBTQ+ activist, and motivational speaker based in Los Angeles. With features in GRAMMY.com, Rolling Stone, Billboard, The New York Times, Buzzfeed, and The NY Daily News, Ryan has made the most of his career, which started when he was just 13. Rebecca Mae

Rebecca Mae

Rebecca Mae is the current Miss Erie 2019. Rebecca was recently featured in Erie Readers 40 under 40 and has produced/hosted multiple events around Erie. She has done everything from Pride after parties to brunches and even bingos. Rebecca has performed in Chicago, Pittsburgh, various parts of Ohio, New Jersey and NYC. Follow her on all of her social media to stay up-to-date for future events!
